The completely renovated underground Museum of Coal-mining in Slovenia provides its visitors with a unique experience of coalminers.

The Velenje Museum is housed in the Velenje Castle, which is known as one of the most beautifully preserved Slovenian castles.

The Kavčnik's Homestead

The family Kavčnik home, set in the small hamlet of Zavodnje nad Šoštanjem, is a precious monument to the Slovene rustic residential culture and an example of a smokehouse located in the Europe.

Gril's Homestead

It is believed that the cottage was constructed in the mid 19th century as a small vinedresser’s house on a viniferous slope of Lipje and Vinska Gora.

Gallery F-bunker

In the underpass near Villa Bianca there is a gallery dedicated to photography and film. Fbunker is a new exhibition centre in the underpass that connects the old and the new Velenje. In cooperation with the City Municipality of Velenje and the Velenje Museum, the new acquisition of the cultural landscape in Velenje was designed and realized by the renowned independent creator of Velenje Črt Valenčak.

We are a simple restaurant right at the entrance to Velenje, where we prepare excellent and varied breakfasts, bistro food, ala carte and, of course, our specialties, such as homemade chicken liver pate with truffles and honey, kangaroo and snails.

Fishing Lodge Velenje

The Kolodvorska Restaurant is located close to Velenje Train Station. You can choose from a variety of daily snacks and lunches, as well as à la carte dishes. We also accept bookings for large groups, celebrations, corporate groups and other private parties. There is space for 150 people and full catering is available.

Šalek Brewery - Skubeer Brewing

Visit the boutique Skubeer brewery, which today brews Indian pale ale, pale ale and stout. 1st Hajer, a stout with a complex taste of coffee and caramel with a hint of dark chocolate and a light brown colour, is just one of the beers that tells the story of the strong miners in the dark mine tunnels. It’s perfect for late breakfasts, but it’s also great for winter evenings. Take time for a tasting, listen to beer stories and delight your hosts with a strawberry selection of products from the Šaleška kraft brewery.

They are located in one of the most beautiful locations in the Savinjsko-Saleška Valley, right next to Lake Velenje and the Vista event stage.

Surrounded by beautiful nature, seasonal gourmet delights are prepared for you to experience with all your senses. Their speciality is the large selection of daily fresh sea and river fish. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of choice on their menu, and they cater for meat lovers too, including their most popular pizzas alla Napoletana, made to an original recipe in a Florentine wood-fired oven.

Jezero Restaurant can seat 200 guests in the indoor area and 100 on the restaurant’s covered terrace with a beautiful view of Lake Velenje.
