Šoštanj City Gallery

The City Gallery’s premises are in the lower part of the residential house, where there was a restaurant or eatery of the Galuf family before WWII. For a time after the house was renovated in the 1990s, there was a technical goods shop in the location where the gallery is now. During dr. Bogdan Menih’s tenure as mayor, the Municipality of Šoštanj dedicated the premises to the operation of the gallery in 1998. The gallery was handed over to the management of the Šoštanj Institute of Culture in 2001. It holds a consistent gallery activity. The gallery’s program focuses on fine arts of all kinds, as well as ethnography and photography. Exhibitions evoke a great deal of interest. The facilities are also appropriate for lectures, symposia, and presentations.
