Smrekovec
The Smrekovec – Komen ridge, an andesite mountain range that stretches east-west and the result volcanic activity during the Neocene Epoch, has rounded and largely overgrown peaks. Only on the peak of Mount Komen does the bare andesite rock show. Due to its non-limestone bedrock and acidic soil, plants grow here that are not found elsewhere in the Kamniško – Savinjske Alps.
