DESCRIPTION
Take the cycling lane in the direction of Šalek Castle up to the traffic light before the tunnel, where you take the left in the intersection, continue past Šalek Primary School to Selo and then past the plastics plant where you will cross main road between Velenje and Slovenj Gradec. After 200 m, with Vegrad’s quarry behind you, you will join the gravel cycling and hiking trail on the right bank of the River Paka. Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn left and continue on the former railway track on the left bank of the River Paka. When you arrive to the first crossing with a paved road next to the Erbus tyre shop (image) at 4.20 km, turn right and continue on asphalt to Loke. The paved section climbs for 5.29 km all the way to Habe and Jurko, where you will then take a well-tended gravel road for 2.6 km to connect to another paved road that is only 210 m from the Paški Kozjak chalet. Continue past St. Jošt church and after 4.6 km arrive to a paved road. The distance from the starting point to the junction to the left to Paka near Velenje is 20.76 km. The junction is clearly marked. After 6.59 km of gravel surfaces, you will reach the asphalt road that leads to Paški Kozjak. After the descent to the gravel quarry, you turn left before the bridge spanning the River Paka to the former railway to the starting point. A total of 13.57 km of gravel surfaces.
