Collection of first berils in the Velenje Library
A tour of the collection of 1,552 first readers in more than 100 world languages from all continents on display at the Velenje Library.
The Velenje Library is a general library for all citizens, regardless of their age, gender, education, religion, national or social origin, etc., and is one of the pillars of local cultural, educational and social life, as well as having an impact on economic development and social promotion through the general accessibility of the collected knowledge and information. Through programmes and projects to develop reading culture, it popularises literature and a wide range of knowledge, and maintains a sanctuary of books and an information centre in the centre of Velenje, which actively addresses the diverse age and professional target groups of library users through access to well-organised, credible information resources and a well-thought-out programme of exhibitions and events. Of particular interest to international visitors is the unique collection of 1,522 first readers in more than 100 world languages from all continents, which is on display as a special library collection.
Only the annual fee for home borrowing is payable.
