Velenje and Šoštanj are cities with green areas, architecture worth visiting, attractive monuments, and galleries and museums that preserve the cultural heritage of the area. This is where the largest statue in the world of Marshal Tito is found, and artistic depictions Rudar (The Miner), Nabiralka zvezd (Star Picker), Muze umetnosti (Art Muses), and important developments of Velenje and other monuments.
The architecture of Velenje, a young city, surprises with its modernist design and old core, Šoštanj with its villas of urban architecture from various periods, and the countryside with its many preserved centuries old homesteads.
