Friday, November 8 Old Square in Old Velenje from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM On Friday, November 8, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, a traditional open-air St. Martin’s Day celebration will take place at the Old Square in Old Velenje, featuring wine tasting from Slovenian winemakers and local cuisine, organized by the Šaleška Valley Tourism Institute in collaboration with the Velenje Youth Center and supported by the City Municipality of Velenje. St. Martin’s Day is a special tribute to good wine. It marks the day when must turns into wine, so you are invited to a tasting in the beautiful setting of Old Velenje. Several winemakers from different wine-growing regions of Slovenia will present their wines. In addition to wine tasting, there will also be tastings of autumn and St. Martin’s specialties, musical entertainment, and a pleasant atmosphere. Nevertheless, there is nothing wrong with celebrating the day when must turns into wine a day earlier or later.
Music program: 🎶 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Event opening with accordionist Rajko Petek 🎶 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM: Ensemble Vikend will provide a lively evening concert for a real Martin’s Day party. 🎶 Lenart Kukovec on the saxophone will enhance the gathering with gentle melodies throughout the day. *Admission to the event is FREE! A deposit of 5 EUR will be organized for glasses, which will be refunded upon presentation of a token and the glass. Vendors will operate according to their price lists.
