Camp Velenje

The Jezero camping site is located at the Velenje lake, only one kilometre fro the town’s centre in the Westerly direction. There is a free-of-charge bus connection to the town centre. The camp, located on a meadow along the lake, boasts 100 plots equipped with electricity. The camp has separate women and men bathroom facilities, which can also accommodate the disabled, a baby changing room and laundry room (with a washing machine and dryer). Guests with mobile homes will be pleased to use the camp’s supply station. The camp also boasts vehicle washing facilities.

A general store is approximately 1 kilometre from the camp, although the camp takes orders for bread on a daily basis. The camp also boasts a small children’s playground, bar and restaurant, while nearby there is a sports centre with outdoor and indoor tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, basketball court, football pitch, mini golf course, fitness centre, and three-hole golf green. The camp also offers bike rental services.

Alongside the lake there is a jogging track (which becomes a cross-country skiing track in winter), while the Jezero camp is an excellent starting point for bike trips. An equestrian club and canine society are nearby the centre for all pet lovers.

In the summer, the Velenje lake is popular with swimmers and surfers, sailors with small sailing boats that can be rented from the nearby sail centre, and is an excellent venue for various model competitions. The camp also offers pedal boat rental services.

Guests can visit the nearby coal museum, where you will be taken by a lift 160 metres below the surface. Or take a stroll to Velenje itself and visit the castle. A picnic area is also available near the camp-site. It is here where the renown Pika Festival takes place every year, much to the delight of children.
