Underground adventure in the Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia
The deepest dining hall in the world.
When you descend with Slovenia’s oldest working lift into the underground part of the Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia, you find yourself in the world of Velenje’s miners and lignite.
An hour and a half long Underground adventure, including riding the coal mining train, leads you through historic scenes with dolls and audiovisual presentations of miners’ lives and work. Whilst there, you might be surprised; in the dining hall situated 160 metres below the earth’s surface, probably the deepest dining hall in the world, you’ll enjoy a miners’ lunch: a piece of bread and Carnolian spiced pork sausage.
